The Ethereal Feeling Created By A Thunderstorm

Here's a beautiful photo of an approaching thunderstorm over the Carson Valley!  Thanks Jim!

thunderstorm view from the office may 09

This was taken from our office window a couple of weeks ago.  The feeling was quite ethereal as we got ready for the violence of the storm.  It rained, and cleared up, of course.  These moments remind us of the power and beauty of Mother Nature.  Look around the clouds - they are really three dimensional.  The mountain, Jobs Peak, is about 8-9 miles away - this is a very big set of clouds.

Great picture.  Time to head indoors and unplug the computers.  Had some homes burn down in Florida yesterday from lightning.

This is a great photo of the approaching thunderstorm! Do you think we are ever going to have a warm summer? I am not complaining....I really love this wet, rainy weather we are having...just wondering!

You have wonderful week!

Terrie - I'm with you ... I love the thunderstorms and the cool wet weather!

Gabe - House fires aren't good ... sorry for those folks!

Jim - My husband Jim actually took that photo!  He used to shoot professionally and love to keep his camera close by!
