Lisa and Jim's Northern Nevada Real Estate Blog: Facebook Releases Timeline to the World

Facebook Releases Timeline to the World

My daughter has her's set up ... she seems to like it.  Here's a great video about the new facebook timeline ad how it works!  Seems to be catching on  ... a least with my friends!  Thanks Stephen for posting this very useful blog!

Facebook has now started a global roll-out of the new profile layout "Timeline". They describe it as a way to:

"rediscover the things you shared, and collect your most important moments"

There's a strong genealogy link with this latest change, it will be interesting to see if Facebook allows retroactive activity. For example, will I be able to add past events so they appear on my timeline and in doing so create a more complete picture of my entire life?

Here is a video from Facebook that provides more detail:

I need more information on this timeline thing...I am hesitant to allow for all my goings on...I don't think anyone cares either...but we shall see.

All us will need to take some time to figure out how to best use timeline.  Thanks for sharing the video.

We've been following the Timeline development for awhile. Facebook used wisdom by inviting developers to use Timeline in beta form before the final rollout.  We recently updated to it's use. There are plenty of choices and you have control over what is shared. Facebook makes suggestions of content based on what is already part of your status and profile content. Then you decide what and to whom that content is shared. I really like the new "Cover" feature (something like a page heading) which allows some creativity for your profile. SC
